There comes a point in every artist’s life when you realize you’ve outgrown the version of yourself that everyone else still expects to see.

 For me, that realization didn’t happen overnight. It happened through years of writing songs I wasn’t sure anyone would hear, rebuilding my life one small step at a time, learning to accompany myself on guitar when I never thought I’d have to, standing on stages that felt both familiar and completely new, and discovering that sometimes the hardest person to become is the person you were always meant to be. 

For years I performed under JESKA & The Vanity Project. That name carried me through incredible milestones. It introduced me to audiences I never imagined I’d play for. It brought unforgettable bandmates into my life, led to opportunities like SXSW and Black Fret, and helped earn the incredible honor of being voted Austin Chronicle’s People’s Choice Best Band in Austin. 

I’m grateful for every chapter that name represents. 

But something changed. 

As I began writing this new collection of songs, I realized they weren’t about who I had been. They were about who I was becoming. 

These songs are more honest. 

More vulnerable. 

More fearless. 

They weren’t asking to hide behind a band name. They were asking me to stand behind my own. 

So I made the decision to become simply JESKA. 

It isn’t a rejection of my past. Quite the opposite.

Every person who has stood beside me on a stage, every musician who has believed in these songs, every fan who has come to a show, every photographer who captured a moment, every venue that gave me a chance, and every friend who refused to let me quit has helped build the artist I am today. 

The name changed because I changed. 

My music is still rooted in honest storytelling, powerful vocals, and the belief that live music creates connections we can’t always put into words. But this new chapter feels different. The songs dig deeper. The performances feel more personal. I’m learning to trust my own voice in ways I never have before. 

That doesn’t mean I’m doing it alone. 

I’m surrounded by extraordinary musicians who continue to inspire me every time we step on stage together. They bring these songs to life in ways I never could by myself, and I’m endlessly grateful to share this journey with them. 

At the same time, another dream has been growing alongside the music. In 2026, I founded Harmony Sisters, a community created to celebrate and support women in music. What started as an idea has quickly become something much bigger than I imagined. Watching artists cheer each other on, collaborate, and build genuine friendships has reminded me why I fell in love with this industry in the first place. There is room for all of us, and we’re stronger when we lift each other up. 

That spirit has found its way into everything I do. 

Whether I’m writing songs, performing with my band, photographing another artist, creating content for musicians, or organizing a showcase, the goal is the same: create something meaningful and leave people feeling a little less alone than they did before. 

This website is going to reflect that journey. 

You’ll find stories behind new songs, updates from the road, behind-the-scenes moments, photography, creative projects, and the occasional glimpse into the beautifully chaotic life that exists between performances.
